Mantis
Mantis is a High-Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD) digital media player. Mantis is available as a

Mantis MC is a 2-channel High Definition video player complete with date and time-based
scheduled playback, housed in a single rack-unit chassis. It decodes all 18 ATSC HD formats, and outputs in 16:9 aspect ratio in
composite,
component (YPrPb) or RGBHV video, at 1920 x 1080i resolution, at up to 45 Mbits/second. It
has precise A/V synchronization and your choice of Dolby Digital 5.1 or
MPEG-2 audio output. Mantis comes standard with a 120 GB hard drive and a DVD-ROM drive.
Mantis provides the flexibility of scripted playback, serial controlled
playback, or both. Mantis can provide 32-bit graphic overlay, allowing you
to insert logos or other graphics over top of HD video. It also provides
high quality up and down conversion of media files, allowing you to play HD
files on to SD monitors, or to up-convert SD files to play back on HD monitors, and to mix and match SD and HD media files for a
uniform presentation resolution. Mantis players can be individually controlled via a
built in web-interface, or can be remotely scripted using the
Media Messenger software (see below.)
 Mantis MG
has all the features of a Mantis MC, but features up to 4 channels of HD video,
or up to 8 channels of SD video in a single media player. Mantis MG offers
a choice of 160 GB or 500 GB hard drives, allowing for dozens of hours of
HD or hundreds of hours of SD content storage. Mantis MG also features an
optional integrated digital RF output, enabling you to RF encode video outputs
within the Mantis itself, for distribution on an existing coaxial cable system.
Media Messenger is a simple, powerful head-end software application that provides tools for scheduling, distributing and monitoring digital media on standalone or networked Firefly
and Mantis Media Players. It is uniquely designed to take advantage of the full range of
Mantis media player features, including multichannel playback of HD MPEG files, network monitoring and control, remote content updating via FTP,
etc. Media Messenger provides the ability to create playlists and schedules
foro hundreds or even thousands of networked Mantis players, organized within user-defined logical groups, such as geographic region.
In addition, Media Messenger manages playback and diagnostic log data, available for custom reports in several of formats. The software also provides tools for programming and scheduling serial commands, issued by
